Pete started his career as an amateur boxer 24 years ago, with Withington ABC which was run by former professional Boxer John Mallone. He then went on to box for Sale West ABC under Mr Dunn. Pete tried traditional karate where the instructor recommended Pete might be more suited to Muay-Thai. After training for a short while under William Hillditch, Pete joined up with Keith ‘Pele’ Nathan at Sale West. He went on to train and fight for Sale West for over 10 years with a record of:

  • 36 fights (21 Wins – 2 Draws – 13 Losses)
  • British WAKO Pro Thai-Boxing champion
  • International competition (England Vs Ireland)
  • Black Sash (Instructor Grade)
 

Club Origins


Dwany’s Fight Club was started in March 2007, in a short space of time the club moved to bigger premises at Clarendon Recreation Centre, Salford. After TV coverage on Channel M the club is thriving. A further club is soon to be opened in Broughton.

Pete has developed, after extensive work in inner-city areas with young people from all different backgrounds, a series of workshops to help build confidence and instil a sense of self discipline. Pete has also worked giving drug awareness talks to over 10,000 young people in the last 2 years. These workshops have been used by a number of different agencies, including N.A.C.R.O, Connexions, Sport4life and various youth inclusion groups.
